A family, a fold & love of the land
Ridge View Rural is a small, family-run business built around a love of the land, family and Highland cattle.
Kate was raised on a sheep farm and spent some of her childhood working with cattle on a neighbouring dairy farm. From an early age, there was always a dream of one day raising a family on the land – creating the kind of environment where our children could grow up surrounded by animals, nature and the simple joys of farm life.
Why Highland Cattle
When we discovered Highland cattle, it didn’t take long to understand why they were the breed for us. They’re beautiful, sweet, gentle and quiet, with a smaller frame than many traditional cattle breeds and a temperament that makes them enjoyable and manageable to work with.
We often describe them as a big, oversized, loveable puppy dogs – and anyone who spends time with them quickly understands why.
Our family
At the heart of Ridge View is our family – Andrew, Kate, Aria and Jade.
While Andrew’s time is largely dedicated to his own business, Digwright, Ridge View is something Kate has created for herself, while also being very much something for our whole family.
It’s a small family operation, and that’s how we want it to stay.
Our vision
Our goal for Ridge View is simple: to become a name people trust.
We want Ridge View to be known for quality, beautiful and well-loved Highland cattle – cattle that we’re proud to raise and that people can feel confident bringing home to their own properties.
We’re not looking to become the biggest. We want to build something genuine, respected and sustainable, while staying true to the family values that Ridge View was built around.
